Valve files mysterious new “computer game software” Trademark

A new trademark from Valve has appeared for what could be a new game. Valve applied for a new trademark on October 10thfor a new project called “Neon Prime”. The application is still being processed by the US Patent and Trademark Office but it does describe something interesting. Neon Prime's trademark is listed under projects relating to "Computer game software, electronic game software, video game software, and computer game programs downloadable via the internet". While Neon Prime could be a brand new game, Valve does create other software which is also trademarked as “computer game software”. The listing is a little misleading since Valve does create non-gaming software for video games such as anti-cheat, Steam Deck updates and software for its VR headset, the Valve Index. Most of these other types of software are also listed in the same category. However, a former Valve employee has commented that Neon Prime could be the FTL-like ship-building game that was never released.
