CD Projekt chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz has revealed that the research process for The Witcher 4 has been completed. He states in a new video that the development is now in the “pre-production phase”. This means the team has begun the next phase of developing the new game.
Nielubowicz explained in the video that the team have “recently wrapped up the research phase” for The Witcher 3. He states they've “begun to capitalize development expenses related to the new game”. While this news won't mean much for most gamers, it's fantastic for fans of The Witcher series.
Sadly there's still no news about what we can expect from The Witcher 4 but the game is still years away. It will be quite some time before full development begins on the title. Most of the CD Projekt Red development team is currently focused on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.
