News Bit: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake delayed indefinitely

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is in trouble. The remake of the classic 2003 game has been “delayed indefinitely” after issues during the development process. Bloomberg reports that developer Aspyr Media has “abruptly” fired the game's art director and design director this month.

According to the report, Brad Prince the game's design director and Jason Minor the art director were both fired after a demo was finalised. The demo was created for its production partners Lucasfilm and Sony to see their progress on the title. However, after this the Aspyr studio heads announced to staff that the demo did not meet internal expectations, the two directors were fired and work on the game was paused.

While the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was on track for a 2022 release, it seems like this will probably never happen. The remake has been “delayed indefinitely” and the fate of the title is uncertain. If the project is being rebooted then a 2025 release date may be more realistic.
