The developer of RimWorld has announced on Twitter that the game has been rated in Australia and is now available for purchase again. RimWorld launched in 2013 and was available for Australians to purchase on Steam, but the upcoming console ports caused trouble.
In February this year, RimWorld was put forwards to the Australian Classification Board due to a potential console release. However, the Board classified it as "Refused Classification", making it illegal to sell in the country. This is due to the game's content, and as it turned out, this rating prevented it from being sold to Australians even on PC.
Thankfully, the Board reviewed the application again earlier this month. RimWorld has now been classified as "R 18+", the highest rating in Australia. As a result, the game is once again available to purchase in Australia on Steam.
