News Bit: PlayStation Plus Subscription Service will launch in June

The “Spartacus” subscription service that had been rumoured about for many months has finally been announced by Sony. Full details of how it works can be found here on the official PlayStation Blog.

As expected, the new service will combine both PlayStation Plus with PlayStation Now into one service. However, it's being split into three membership tiers.

PlayStation Plus Essential – The same as the current PlayStation Plus service with the same pricing.

PlayStation Plus Extra – The middle tier, the same benefits as the first with an added catalogue of up to 400 games to download and play.

PlayStation Plus Premium – Same benefits as the previous two but add up to another 340 additional games including PS3 titles and classics from PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations. Also offers cloud streaming access using PS4, PS5 and PC.

The Premium tier will be the most expensive of the new subscriptions from Sony and is planned to be priced at $17.99 USD per month or $119.99 USD annually. Each tier will offer additional bonuses for players on both PS4 and PS5. However, PS5 owners will get access to more games with their subscriptions.
