News Bit: New Doom 2 Level released with proceeds going to Ukraine

John Romero has announced that he's releasing a new level for Doom II in support of the Ukraine humanitarian efforts. The Doom developer hasn't released much information about what the level is or what we can expect to see. Romero does create new Doom maps on a regular basis for the original games so it's very likely this is a brand new level.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Romero states this is to “support the people of Ukraine and humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross and UN Central Emergency Response Fund”. The new level can be purchased at 5 Euros and 100% of the proceeds will be going towards both organisations to fund humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

The level is being sold under the name “One Humanity” on Romero's official website here. The sale page for it states this is his “first DOOM II level since the release of the original” game in 1994. Players need to have an original copy of DOOM II and a modern source port to play One Humanity.
