Capcom has officially confirmed that Dragon's Dogma is getting a sequel. A second game had been long suspected and rumoured but Capcom has now revealed Dragon's Dogma 2 is coming. The publisher recently held a celebration stream for the original game's 10th anniversary where it confirmed a sequel is coming.
The game's director Hideaki Itsuno revealed during the celebration stream that Dragon's Dogma 2 is in development. He states that “everyone in the development team is working hard” to create the new game. Itsuno also apologises for keeping fans waiting on news for the sequel. News on the sequel is limited but we know Dragon's Dogma 2 will use the same engine used to make Resident Evil Village.
Dragon's Dogma 2 was one of the games included in the infamous Nvidia GeForce Now leak of unannounced games. The list was filled with old placeholders and many of the games listed in the leak have also been officially announced.
