BioShock 4 was officially confirmed to be coming in 2019. Published 2K Games stated the game would be coming eventually but not for a little while. There have been no official details on the game from 2K since then but journalist Colin Moriarty has shared a few details that have been leaked to him.
Speaking on his Sacred Symbols podcast, Moriarty reveals that the new game takes place in a 1960s Antarctic city called Borealis. The game is also currently codenamed as “Parkside” which is a name that has appeared various time in the past. The name “Parkside” has been linked to BioShock developer Hanger 13 several times in the past.
The setting for the new BioShock would put it perfectly in the time period for the classic The Thing movies and with a similar location, some kind of easter egg or reference seems likely. Interestingly, another rumour suggests that BioShock 4 will be called BioShock: Isolation and is in development at Cloud Chamber Games.
