With another year coming to a close, Metacritic has revealed what the worst games of 2022 are according to the average review scores from approved critics. Games with less than 7 reviews from professional outlets have been excluded and a game can only be featured once on the list so games released for multiple platforms are judged according to the lowest-scoring version.
The worst games on the 2022 list include a mix of titles you've probably never heard of and a few familiar titles.
1. Postal 4: No Regrets (PC)
3. Babylon's Fall (PS5)
4. XEL (Nintendo Switch)
5. Lego Brawls (PS5)
6. Zorro: The Chronicles (PS5)
7. The Last Oricru (Xbox Series X)
8. The Waylanders (PC)
9. Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief (PS4)
10. Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition (Nintendo Switch)
Metacritic has only included games on this list that were released between January 1st 2022 to December 31st 2022. The games have been ranked according to their scores on December 12th 2022 so it's possible there might be a little movement in the ranking before 2023.
Criticism for most of the listed games had issues such as bugs that were never fixed with updates, gameplay issues, poor writing and more. Babylon's Fall was 2022's highest-profile AAA game fail from Bayonetta developer PlatinumGames. The servers for this game will be taken offline on February 27th 2023.
