It's easy to forget about the smaller events at E3 and this year there are more presentations than ever before. Thankfully, there was a dedicated Indie event this year! The Indie Showcase highlighted some of the indie games we can expect to see very soon and revealed a great range of games. If you missed the Indie Game Showcase, we've got you covered.
Lifeslide
A game about flying a paper airplane might sound like an odd choice but Lifeslide is a gorgeous game. Players need to fly through the beautiful environments, evading different obstacles and creatures as they soar through the sky on paper wings.
Hooded Horse showed off three different strategy games
Falling Frontiers is the new RTS Hooded Horse is publishing while Alliance of the Sacred Suns in a 4X Strategy game. The final one of the trio is Terra Invicta, a Grand Strategy game. All of them are set in space and all of them, look very promising.
Fallen Aces
This 2D game has a comic book style and has a classic crime noir atmosphere. The trailer includes some gameplay to reveal it's plated in first-person and doesn't skimp on the action with plenty of shooting and brawling.
Toy Soldiers HD
Toy Soldiers is back! This is an updated version of the original game which includes some new features and all the DLC. It will be releassing for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch this August.
Moo Lander
Somehow inspired by the cow abduction trope, Moo Lander lets you control a small UFO and mutant alien cows. It looks completely crazy and will even support multiplayer for up to four players. Hopefully there will be more news soon for this one! Moo Lander launches Spring 2022.
Neko Ghost, Jump!
Being able to switch between 2D and 3D views of the game give it a real Paper Mario vibe but Neko Ghost, Jump! is more than some kind of clone. It's an adorable platformer where you control a cat with the ability to transform into “ghost mode”. This game stole the show for most people watching and it's easy to see why. Neko Ghost, Jump! will release for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the near future.
ExtraGalactica
ExtraGalactica promises to be an epic fight against aliens for your right to play football! Obviously, you need to defend the planet too otherwise you need to find somewhere new to play football. The trailer includes different gameplay aspects including some exploration and epic battles. As far as unique games go, it looks very different. ExtraGalactica offers a silly narrative while surrounded by 2D pixel gameplay.
There have been a lot more indie games announced at E3 over the course of the event. Almost every stream so far has included titles from smaller developers which has been great to see. The PC Gamer Show had plenty of indie games to talk about and there are still more Indie games to come this E3.
